Offering a solution to the shipbuilding demands of the Indian Coast and Indian Navy is the main goal of the GRSE. It was incorporated in 1934 by the Indian government.
It has three facilities: the first is for shipbuilding and is in Kolkata; the second is for building ships and is in Rajabagan Dockyard; and the third is for fitting and maintenance.

Job Location: Kolkata/Ranchi
Stipend:
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 15,000/- pm
- Technician Apprentice: Rs. 10,000/- pm
- Trade Apprentice (Fresher): Rs. 6,000 – 6,600/- pm
- Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI): Rs. 7,000 – 7,700/- pm
Qualifications:
Trade Apprentice (Fresher):
- ITI in Fitter, Welder (Gas & Electric), Electrician, Pipe Fitter, Machinist
Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI):
- ITI in Electrician/Fitter/Painter General Welder (Gas & Electric)/Machinist/Plumber/Carpenter/Draughtsman (Mechanical)/(COPA)/Electronics Mechanic/Mechanic (Diesel)/Fitter/Secretarial Practice (English)/Secretarial Assistant (English)/Mechanic Machine Tool/Maintenance (MMTM)/Information & Communication Technology System/Maintenance (ICTSM)/Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
Technician Apprentice:
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Communication/Civil Engineering
Graduate Apprentice:
- Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer Science & Information Technology/Civil Engineering
Total Vacancies:

- Technician Apprentice: 47 Posts
- Trade Apprentice (Fresher): 40 Posts
